The Monte Rosa is the Mountain of "our home" and you can reach its base and the Natural Parc of Alta Valsesia with just few minutes of driving. The Monte Rosa is the second highest mountain in Europe. It is a part of the Alpi Pennine and is situated on the border between Italy and Switzerland. The Punta Dufour is the highest summit and is 4,634 metres. On the top of Punta Gnifetti, which is the fifth highest summit, you can find the Margherita Mountain Hut (4,554 metres), the highest in Europe, which was originally built in 1892 as a scientific and meteorologic observatory and rebuilt in 1975.
